 SENIOR TALENT MANAGER  

We are looking for a Senior Talent Manager to drive our organization-wide talent management and development initiatives.  Ultimately, you will foster a healthy workplace that will help us achieve our business objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organize and oversee individual and team training programs (both outsourced and in-house)

  • Plan regular employee performance evaluations

  • Conduct skills gap analyses

  • Develop and build upon employee retention programs and team-building activities

  • Craft policies that support internal promotions

  • Assist and work with leadership team to build succession plans

  • Create organizational charts and define each position’s responsibilities

  • Discuss career-pathing options with high-potential employees and their team leaders

  • Perform benchmark research on compensation and benefits

  • Coach employees and act as their consultant regarding learning and development activities

  • Manage the candidate pipeline and lead the full hiring process for all departments (internal and external hiring). This includes but is not limited to developing/posting job descriptions, establishing recruitment strategy, screening candidates, coordinating interviews with the hiring team, extending and negotiating offers, and conducting candidate due diligence, completing new hire paperwork and executing new hire onboarding.

    • Provide an efficient and excellent candidate experience for every candidate from application to offer.

    • Develop and maintain all job descriptions and job postings and review and respond to applicants in a timely manner.

    • Conduct reference checks and background screenings with third party vendors.

  • Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Identify and execute new and creative ways to engage high-potential candidates in the market today.

  • Advance employment branding initiatives such as job fairs, recruiting events and working with the Communications and Marketing teams on media and digital campaigns.

  • Work with management to provide frequent updates on where current talent is spending time to identify hiring needs. Communicates with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting methods

  • Continues to build upon organization-wide practices that fill business needs and support organizational culture

  • Schedule new hire orientation with candidate and key staff members

  • Recommend changes as required using analyses/assessment of business case for initiatives to ensure potential for value add.  

  • Lead applications for employer awards, assist in conducting engagement surveys and manage Glassdoor page (if applicable).

  • Support Management in other areas as required including but not limited to other HR programs/initiatives.

Desired skills and Experience

  • Proven work experience as Talent Acquisition Manager, HR Manager or similar role

  • Familiarity with performance management and relevant software

  • Experience delivering employee training programs

  • Knowledge of labor legislation

  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources tools (e.g. Applicant Tracking Systems)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Team spirit

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills

  • Relevant post-secondary education (human resource management or business degree an asset)

  • Additional certification is a plus

  • A minimum of 5-8 years in a talent acquisition or human resource management role

  • Ability to work in a team and independently

  • Excellent organization skills and ability to take care of details while managing multiple tasks and working under time constraints
